Happy New Year!! and a DCC Challenge

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I hope this finds you, happy, healthy and safe.  I always worry about everyone making it home safe from their New Year's gatherings. It was a pretty reserved new years eve for us - dinner and a few drinks and home by 7:30.  Sleeping by 10:00.   I know quite a few people who didn't have the best 2013 so lets hope 2014 brings better things for them.  Our son just graduated from college a few weeks ago, so there are definitely a lot of new beginnings and fresh starts coming his way.  We are looking forward to see where he goes from here.   I know he has huge opportunities ahead of him - praying for a blessed and safe journey along the way for him.

And then there is a DCC challenge at Repeat Impressions.   Geri selected this weeks challenge and it is perfect - New Year - use something new to you.  We probably all have some new craft toy - whether it was a Christmas gift, something we purchased with a gift card, or something we purchased because we "needed" it, we all have some new toy that just needs to be tried.

My new toy is a Tim Holtz die my husband gave me for Christmas.  This is the Alterations On The Edge die called Distressed Doily.  This image is also a new one for me - it is Repeat Impressions image - 1601-K Bear Hug.  What a sweet image.  I love this very simple look I have been seeing so much of.  Just a plain white card with a sweet colored image and that little bit of patterned paper for an accent.  This die was perfect for that look.  It gives this card the homey, cozy look I was going for.  I added just a slight touch of patterned paper and some bling (also new).

So admit it!! You have some new toys too, don't you?  Bring them out.  Create your own card.  Link it here on the Repeat Impressions blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for a unmounted sheet of stamps of your choice.  You can see the complete rules here

I hope you get a chance to play along.
Stay warm
Joyce

  1. Happy New Year, Joyce! I hope all goes well with your son and he heads out on his new life.
Your card is absolutely A-dorable! I love the softness you've created with your new doily die and the colors you've chosen.
