Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Punches and/or Dies 4 Kids

It's a glorious day in Central Wisconsin.  The sun is bright, the temps are fairly decent (mid 20's).  More of a normal winter day but somehow it seems absolutely fabulous compared to the weather we've been having this winter.

What could make that bright day even brighter?  A challenge from Send A Smile 4 Kids and this weeks challenge is one of my fav's - Punches and/or Dies 4 Kids.

Before I show you my cards, I must tell you about this weeks amazing sponsors.
A huge thank you to those amazing sponsors for supporting this special cause.

This fun image on my first card is from The Cutting Cafe' - what an adorable sweet treat.  This classic saying takes me back to when I was a kid.  Keeping in mind this weeks challenge is to use punches and/or dies, I went a little over the top.  The image is cut out with my petite oval Spellbinders and then matted with my scalloped petite oval Spellbinders.  I used a flourish from a very old Sizzix classic die. On the background I used a Martha Stewart lattice work border punch and I also used Fiskar's stitches border punch.  I think that fulfills the requirements of the challenge.  LOL!!

I'm very pleased to welcome Meljen's Designs as a sponsor to SAS4K. I have been a follower of Meljen for several years so I squealed when I found out they were going to become one of our sponsors.  We're soooooo glad you've joined us.  This adorable images is called Little Girl Bear Hugs.  So adorable!!!!  I thought this image would be perfect for my current favorite style.  I love this very simple style of using a plain white card to feature an amazing image and just adding some banners across the top.  To keep with the theme of the challenge, I used a couple different punches.  The banners are made using my EK Success punch and the border is made using a Martha Stewart border punch.

Now its your turn to play along.  Dig out your punches and/or dies and create a card 4 kids.  Link that card to the SAS4K blog and you will be entered into a random drawing where you could win one of those amazing prizes from our sponsors.  Don't forget - SAS4K also selects a top 3 which is a huge honor and gives you a badge you can proudly add to your blog.  You can see a complete list of rules here.

Don't forget, SAS4K is a wonderful cause you can read more about it and find out how to contribute here.

Please note that I am entering my cards in the following challenges:

Card 1 - Dreamweaver Stencils - Fluttery & Swirly

Card 2 - Pattie's Creations Design Challenge - Using red in the image
Brown Sugar Challenge #81 - Use a die or punch.

Repeat Impressions DCC - All Heart

I am very pleased to have selected this weeks challenge at Repeat Impressions - All Heart.

For my card, I used RI image 1216-O Ruffled Heart Border.  In the center of the heart, I used RI image 1203-F, Happy Valentine's Day.  Earlier this week, Melissa Cash showed you her project of the week, creating a card using acetate.  We didn't plan this, but my card is also created using acetate.

Here's a look at my card from another angle.  One important thing to remember about working with acetate is to plan the layout of the card so that you are still able to sign the inside of the card.

Valentine's Day is just a few days away so there is still time to make your 'all heart' card.  Link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an amazing prize - an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!
