Creative Escape - Project # 2

For card club this month, one of our challenges is to create a card with die cut letters or numbers on it.  I have had this image laying around and this challenge finally gave me an idea of what I was going to do with it.

I love this image.  I know its an older one, but I think its just awesome.  I have a couple of friends turning 60 this year and I'm just not into the whole "over the hill" thing.  I would much rather do something that celebrates their age rather than making them feel bad about it.  Maybe my attitude has changed as I've gotten older : )

Creative Escape - project #1

Yesterday I was at the Creative Escape - its 12 hours for folks (okay, Ladies but Guys could come if they wanted to) to come and just do whatever crafts they enjoy, whether that is sewing, crochet/knitting, scrapbooking, card making.  Whatever you want to bring.  I went to this last fall and really enjoyed it so I made a point of going again.  I went with a whole list of projects that I wanted to complete.  I did fairly well, but most importantly, I had fun.

This week I will share several project that I worked on - here is the first.  We have young nephew receiving 1st Holy Communion today.

I found a few projects on Pinterest that gave me some inspiration and I really like how this turned out.  I embossed vellum, then printed the verse in Word since I don't have a 1st Communion stamp then cut that out with one of my Fancy Tag Nesties.  I popped both the cross and the tag to give it some dimension - I love dimension.

More tomorrow
