S.A.S.4K. - Anything Goes 4 Kids

It's Send A Smile 4 Kids (S.A.S.4K.) Saturday and this weeks challenge is Anything Goes 4 Kids.

Thank you to our amazing sponsors for this weeks challenge

Here's my first Anything Goes 4 Kids card.   This digi image is from Fred She Said.

Here's my 2nd card - this image is from Crackerbox Palace.

This grumpy fish just needed to be under water.   To create my underwater scene, I used a blister pack that I had saved from a product I had purchased.  I filled the bubble with some glitter and some micro beads.

Here's a close up.

Don't forget, this is a challenge, so that means you can play along. Create an Anything Goes 4 Kids card, link it to the S.A.S.4K challenge blog and you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win one of those amazing prizes from our sponsors.

I hope you take the time to play along.
Thanks much

Repeat Impressions What If? Wednesday - Sketch M2913

m2913

Today is What if? Wednesday and Repeat Impressions has another amazing sketch for us.

If you know me, you know that creating with angles is difficult for me.  I just don't 'see' things at an angle so this sketch truly was a challenge for me.

I played around with different images and different color combinations and everything came together just fine.

Here is my card.  The image I used is called Ballerina Pig - 909-G from the toys collection. Isn't she just so darn cute???

Here's a close up.

So, how do you handle angles?  Do they stump you the way they do me?  Show us your card using this sketch, link it to the RI blog and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the RI store

Thanks so much for stopping by.

DCC Wednesday - Fur, Fin or Feather

It is my turn to pick the Designers Choice Challenge (DCC).   Realistic wildlife images are hard to come by and RI has a huge assortment of them so I thought that having a "Fur, Fin or Feather" challenge would be a great pick.  The funny thing is that when it came to making a card I went with one of their adorable, silly pet images instead.  Still fur - right???  lol!!!  Be sure to check out the RI    shop - they have a ton of critter images to choose from - whether your looking for realistic images or silly ones, they have a LOT to choose from

Here is the card I created for the Fur, Fin or Feather challenge.  If you know me personally, you know that I am ALWAYS late with cards.  If family and friends get their card from me within the week after their birthday, that's pretty darn good for me.  Ironic!!! when my PASSION is card making.  I guess that passion doesn't extend to getting the card in the mail.

Anyway, this card pretty much says it all for me.  This is my reactions whenever I look at the calendar and realize I've missed yet another important date.  This kitty is called Yikes Cat - 7122-G and is part of the Funny Bones Collection.  The "OMG!" is also an RI image - 8723-E from the Hip Chick Collection.  Just an FYI - RI also has the word YIKES in that same Funny Bones collection that would have worked perfect for this card as well.   This is a super simple card - but it says it all!!!

Here's a look at the inside of this card as well.  This verse is something I typed up on my computer.

Please go here - to the RI blog to see the Fur, Fin and Feather cards from my fellow Rock Stars.   Their amazing.

So as always, this DCC is for you too!  Create your own card featuring a Fur, Fin or Feather image.  Link your card to the RI blog and you will be put in the drawing for that awesome prize of a $25 gift certificate to the RI store.  Go here to see the full rules and details of this challenge.

S.A.S.4K. - Pastel 4 Kids

Wooo hoooo!   It's a good day at our house.   It's my husband's birthday so our son is home for the weekend. Yeah!

It's also Send A Smile 4 Kids Saturday so we are introducing a new challenge - Pastel 4 Kids.

As always, we have some amazing sponsors giving some very generous prizes.

  1. Dollar Graphics Depot - is giving a $15 gift certificate
  2. A Day for Daisies - is giving a $12 gift certificate
  3. QKR Stampede - is giving 5 digi images of the winners choice
Here's my first card.  This gorgeous images is called Book Time from A Day For Daisies.  I love this image because it reminds me of my son when he was little.  I know this is a little girl in the image, but when my son was little, he would 'read' all the time. Sometimes I would find him in his closet (not sure why he would go there). He would create a little nest for himself with blankets and pillows and would spend hours 'reading' even though he was too young to actually read a word.

Here's a closer look at this amazing image.

The image on this second card is from Dollar Graphics Depot.   Another super cute image!!
I think the soft pastel colors make it look even cuter.

For more inspiration, you can see the cards created by the rest of the S.A.S.4K. design team.  Then  its time for you to create a pastel card 4 kids.  Show us your card by linking it to the S.A.S.4K blog, and you will be entered in a drawing for those great prizes from our sponsors listed about.  Go here to see the full rules.

I hope you get a chance to play along

Now, I can't wait any longer.  Time to show you my cards using these amazing new stamps.

Card #1 - On this card I used the new Dress Form image 9307-L and for the sentiment, I used the new "Sew Special" 9314-E.  I stamped the image on dark blue, then stamped a simple flourish with VersaMark and embossed with clear embossing power across the skirt - I hope you can see it.  I cut out the dress portion of the dress form.  I then smudged the blue piece with white chalk ink.   I popped that blue piece over the full image I had stamped on white paper.  After that, I just dec'd out my card with some ribbon and buttons.

Here's a close up -

Card #2 - This gate fold card was soooooo fun to make.  For the image, I used the new "Pairings" image called Martini 9304-L and for the sentiment I used Cheers 9316-E also from that new collection.  This photo shows the card completely closed.

This next photo shows the card partially open so that you can see the "gate" aspect.

And this photo shows the open card.  I wanted to show you that the insert is embossed with this super cute little martini glass (Darice).

Card #3 - On this card I used the super cute bumble bee image from the 'Pairings' series - Bee 9308-C.   I stamped this little bee 3 times, cut it out with my octagon nestabilities and matted them with a layer of yellow and then black.  It pretty makes itself after that.  The sentiment is called Buzzillion 9317-E

And a close up so you can see how darn cute these little bumble bees are.

Card #4 - My favorite one!!!!  As if that wasn't enough super cute bumble bees, here is a whole bumble bee scene.  Love it!!!  It's called Happy Bees 9301-P.  So cute!!  The embossing folder is a Sizzix.

Here's a look at the inside of this card.  This sentiment is called "bee"cause - 9312-D and the super cute little bumble bee is that some image from card #3.

So there you have them - those are my cards created using the new 'Pairings' series at Repeat Impressions.  Don't forget to go see the cards created by the other RI Rock Stars or use the links above.

Before I tell you about the stamp of the week, I'd like to tell you about something special that is coming this week at Repeat Impressions.  Here is a special invitation to this exciting event.

9300hopinvite.jpg

I hope you will be able to join us.

Now for the SOTW - This week RI is featuring this lovely image - Garden Bench 3420-H.

garden bench

Spring has finally, finally arrived here in Central Wisconsin, so we have been spending as much time as possible (after yard work and other spring duties) going for walks and spending time at parks.  Sitting on a garden bench is a wonderful thing, so this is the perfect image for us right now.  What could make it more perfect? - since it is the SOTW at RI, it is 50% off this week.  Go here to see how you can grab this image at this whopping discounted price.

Here is my card using this Garden Bench image.   For the sentiment on the banner, I used RI image  8623-D Brighten from the Quartet Complements Series.

Here is a close up, giving you a closer look at this lovely image and the banner flags I've added for an accent in the upper right corner. The stud on that first flag is printed on the paper, I just cut it in a way to make it look like part of the scene. I think it worked out perfectly.

Now hurry over and snag this garden bench image this week while it is our featured stamp and priced at that 50% discount.

Please note: I am entering this card in the following challenges

Thanks so much for stopping by,

S.A.S.4K. - Happy Father's Day From Kids

It's Send A Smile 4 Kids (S.A.S.4K.) Saturday and that means another fun challenge.

I am very proud to be on the S.A.S.4K. design team and some of my favorite cards to make are cards "from" kids.  Generally, when we are making these cards, we focus on cards that can be given to a sick child (and teens) who are children's hospitals - what an awesome cause, right?  This weeks challenge is a twist on that.  We are making cards that the kids can give to their loved ones.  In this case, Father's Day Cards.  I know the pride kids can have from giving to their loved ones, something they don't always have that opportunity when they are ill and in the hospital.

As always, we have some amazing sponsors for our challenges.  Here are this weeks sponsors.....

  • MilkCoffee Stamps - is awarding 5 digital images of the winners choice.
  • Bugaboo - is giving 7 digital images of the winners choice.
  • Robyn's Fetish - is giving 2 digital images of the winners choice.
What amazing prizes.  A huge thanks goes out to our sponsors.

Here is my 1st card - this adorable image is from MilkCoffe Stamps.  The sentiment is something I created on the computer but I was just put into words exactly what the image is saying.  So cute!!! Since this is a card for a dad I wanted to use darker, manly colors but I still wanted it to be bright and vibrant like a kiddo would choose. Some of the colors look very pink but in reality they are a deep red.

Here is a close up....

The image on this 2nd card is from Bugaboo.   Such a super sweet image!!! The paper used on both of these cards is from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Here is another close up for you....

Go here to the S.A.S.4K. blog to see all the gorgeous cards created by the rest of the design team.  Now is your chance to play along.  Create your father's Day card, link it here on the S.A.S.4K. blog, and you will be entered in a random drawing for a chance to win one of those amazing prizes I listed above.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Don't be afraid to take it one step further.  You can donate your card to this amazing cause and it will be given to a kiddo who is in a children's hospital so they can give it to their special dad.   Go here to see how to do that.  They take all themes of cards to be given TO kiddos too.

Thanks for stopping and I hope you play along

Freshly Made Sketches #650

Happy Monday Morning! It's a scorcher here in Central Wisconsin.  Temps in the 80's but heat index well over 100 degrees.  That is ...
