It is my turn to create the DCC challenge at Repeat Impressions. After doing oh so many seasonal cards, I was ready to do something completely different. I'm ready to use some bright or vibrant colors. That's a huge stretch for me because I generally stick with very mild "safe" colors, so this truly was a challenge for me.
Here is my bright colored card.
I love this gorgeous image from Repeat Impressions - 1317-L Vase of Tulips. These lovely tulips look beautiful in any color - even in this ultra bright yellow.
Here's the close up.
Are you ready to break out of the winter blahs? Just create a card using bright or vibrant colors, link it here and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store.

What if? Wednesday - Sketch Challenge J2313
Remember last week when I said I thought it was cold............well it turns out, that was child's play. This week is far colder. Brrrrrr!! Schools have been closed and so have some other local events. Over the weekend we saw a clip from Jimmy Kimmel - a montage of weather people commenting on how to deal with the cold weather they are having - in the 50's. My family and I were just laughing. 50's??? We are just hoping to be above zero sometime soon.
On to a more pleasant topic. It's What If? Wednesday at the Repeat Impressions blog. Yeay!!! I have to share a secret with you - this sketch had me stumped. Some sketches, you look at and you know exactly what you want to create - you can just 'see' it. This one really challenged me for some reason. I'm sure it wasn't really the sketch - its an awesome sketch, as always - the juices just weren't flowing for me for some reason. I lost my mojo for a moment. Must be the cold weather.
Here's the sketch - it really is awesome.
After much playing around and trying different things, this is what I came up with. I really am pleased with the end result.
Once I tipped the sketch on end, things seemed to come together much more easily. I used 2 Repeat Impression's images to creat this card. For the banners in the back ground, I used image 6006-M Forest Positive - I stamped it with Stazon and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Then, for the verse in the focal point, I used 3109-F My Heart.....
Here's the close up - you can see the embossing on the banners here.
So.....how is your mojo flowing today? Are you ready to show us your 'take' on this sketch? I hope so!!! If you get a chance, play along with us. Link your card here on the Repeat Impressions blog and you will be entered in a random drawing to win an awesome prize - a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store.
Please note - I am also entering this card in the following challenge
- 613 Avenue Create - Anything goes - w/Kraft - ends 1/27Thanks so much for stopping byJoyce

Send a Smile 4 Kids - Anything Goes 4 Kids
It's time for a new challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids (S.A.S4K) - Yeah! The weather is still cool here so its a great time to snuggle in and make some cards......okay, anytime is a great time to make cards. The great thing is the new challenge is "Anything Goes 4 Kids". It doesn't have to Valentine's or winter or anything cold, it just needs to be a card that would brighten the day of a sick kiddo. Oh, it does get even better - there are great prizes too. Just link your card here - on the S.A.S.4K's blog and you have a chance these awesome prizes.
Here are my cards.....
The awesome image on this first card is from Dollar Graphics Depot - digital image created by designer Alice Smith. Love it!!! You can't get a whole lot more kid friendly than that.
The image on my second card is from Delicious Doodles - It's called Fae. Isn't she gorgeous? I love the whimsical butterflies fluttering around her so I made a point of extending them further off the image. That is one huge perk of using digital images - you can make them whatever size you need. I printed this same image a couple of times, each one just a little bit bigger to create the affect I was looking for.
and a close up to give you a better look
Be sure to go to the S.A.S.4K blog to get inspiration from the rest of the design team. They have such amazing cards to share - you must see them.
Don't forget to link your card and please consider sending some cards in for this great cause.
I am also entering the following challenges:
Card 1 - Pink girl in the snow card
Card 2 - blue girl with butterflies
Joyce
- Dollar Graphics Depot is awarding a $15 gift certificate

DCC - Slider Card
Fellow Repeat Impressions Rock Star Christy has selected our DCC challenge for this week. Its an awesome challenge - to create a slider card. What I like best about this challenge is that there are several different versions of a 'slider' card. In looking at the other Rock Stars cards, it looks like everyone chose a different version of the term slider. You can see them here.
Here is my definition of a slider card. Actually, I have 2 versions of this same card. I completed the card as seen in the photo here. I know someone who's expecting a baby, so when I saw this adorable row of ducks, 1612-G Ducks on a String, I knew that's the image I wanted to use for my slider. I love how the little chain of ducks slide across the card, however, it just seemed like something was missing. The upper half of the card just needed something.
After trying a few different ideas, I finally decided to add this little little whale tale accent to the upper left corner of the card.
I think that's just what the card needed to balance it out.....plus now you can see how the slider moves across the card.
Here is a close up.
So now its your chance to show us your definition of a 'slider' card - I'd love to see it. Create your own card, link it here on the Repeat Impressions blog, and you'll be entered in a random drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store. That's an amazing prize!!!
I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
- Great Impressions - Sketch Challenge - Month End
- Quirky Craft Challenge - Something New in Pink - Ends 1/18?
- Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge 142/Mark's Finest Papers - Moving Parts - End 1/18??

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #149 - Thinking of You
It's very, very cold here in Central WI (11 degrees - feels like 7) - its one of those 'stay in where its warm' kinda days. Since I don't have to work today, I have the option of doing that. I have the slow cooker going so the house smells cozy and between household tasks I'm getting some cards done. Who could ask for more :)
Best of all - I had the chance to make a card for the latest Sassy Cheryl Challenge. Yippy!! Sassy Cheryl posted her latest challenge today and I am all over it. Okay, I confess. I cheated a little. One other cold day I colored up several Sassy Cheryl images. The stack was sitting on my work table just waiting to be put on a card. When I saw what the challenge is - Thinking of You!! - this image was sitting on the top of the stack. No Brainer! that this would be the image I would use. I love this adorable little boy - Healing Hands Boy. This has got to be one of my favorite Sassy Cheryl's - it just warms my heart!! The perfect "thinking of you" image along with all the flu and yuck that has been going around. Yet another good reason to stay home where its cozy.
Here's my card. Isn't he a cutie? The vertical sentiment is from my LSS - The Stamp Shoppe. Heidi has tons of sentiments, many of them unique and many verticals.
Here's a close up............
and something I don't do often - I even dec'd out the inside of the card....

Since I still have time left to this chilly day, I'm going to make some valentines for Send a Smile 4 Kids.
What a great way to brighten the day of a child who is in the hospital.

MFTGUESTDT0113
I have been trying to participate in the monthly guest design team challenge at MFT. This is a big challenge and quite out of my league but sometimes its fun to run with the big dogs even if I don't have any chance of winning. This is not a random drawing challenge but completely based on talent. The prize is huge ($200 worth of merchandise & you get to particpate as a guest design team member for that next month), the honor is even more huge (only the best get chosen) and best of all, MFT is one of my favorite brands out there. Between the stamps and the dies, I am totally addicted. There are some amazing cards already posted out there.
Here is this months sketch.....
This image is the MFT Pure Innocence - Mud Buddies. Such a cutie!!

Here is my card.....
For this challenge I used 2 Repeat Impressions images - 8805-K Snowflakes & 4601-H Snowmen. They work perfectly together to create this snow card. I stamped both images with versa mark and then embossed them with white embossing powder. The white looks amazing on the dark blue paper. It doesn't show up in the photo nearly as sharp as it looks in real time.
Now, don't forget, you can create your own 'snow' card. Just link it here and you will be entered in a random drawing for a wonderful prize - a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impresssions store. Go here to see the official rules.
Please note that I am also entering this card in the following challenges:'
- Sandy's Craft Creations - Anything goes in blue and/or white - ends 1/31
- Wow! Embossing Powder Challenge - Ice & Snow - I am now a follower - ends 1/31
