DCC - Paper Piecing

Today we have a DCC challenge at Repeat Impressions - Paper piecing.  What's great about these challenges is that it takes us out of our comfort zones.  Paper piecing certainly does that for me.   I use certain aspects of paper piecing on my projects and I admire paper pieced items.  My Pinterest boards are full of paper pieced projects but to sit down and actually do paper piecing is a little scary for me.  But again, that's what makes these challenges great.  Gets us to tackle things that we normally wouldn't.

Here is my take on this weeks challenge.  I pieced the upper half of the back ground then embossed it.  The folder I used was pretty intricate so it gave my project a tattered look.  Not what I was going for but I love how it turned out.

I actually ended up with a 2nd versions of paper piecing on this card.  I really wanted to emphasize this courage ribbon called Heart Ribbon - 8404-F in the Repeat Impressions catalog, so I double layered it and 'popped' it with foam tape.

After doing this challenge, I have a paper piecing project that I was putting off.  Now I'm determined to try it - watch for it to be posted soon.

Now lets see your version of this challenge - does this take you out of your comfort zone like it did to me?  Give it a try.  Since this is a challenge that means you can post your version here on the linky and you have a chance to win a great prize -  a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.  See the rules here.
