I'm a "Rock Star" - woooot wooooot!!!!!

I have had some awesome news.  I have been selected to be a "Rock Star" - on the design team for Repeat Impressions.  Words can not discribe how thrilled I am.   This is a group of amazingly talented ladies, so to be selected to be part of that is..................I can't even explain it!!!!!!

I love working with good stamps and the stamps at Repeat Impressions are wonderful. This is the "good stuff".  I love their beautiful images - especially the wildlife ones.  Coming from Central WI, where nature and wildlife are big factor (at least, in my household they are) I can tell you, it is not easy to find a good quality, realistic looking wildlife stamps, and Repeat Impressions has them - lots of them.   And the flowers, and the kitty's, and the Christmas ones.

To be chosen to this talented group and be able to use products of this quality......Woot! woot!  Its a happy time in my world.

This could not come at a better time for me - almost like a sign of better things to come.  I will be posting cards with the group very soon, until then I'm doing a lot of happy dancin' and I'm glad I can finally share my exciting news.

Have a glorious and safe holiday weekend.  We take our kiddo back to college this weekend (sniff, sniff!).

More soon!

It's just a given that I play along with the challenge over on the MFT forum on SCS.  As always, they had a really cute sketch.

Poppin' in to say Good Morning

A couple weeks back, I was lucky enough to win the blog candy over at Crackerbox Palace.  Each Thursday you can sign up to win the stamp set they feature on their blog that day.  I won this super cute popcorn set.  Isn't it great?!!  You can almost see the motion of the popcorn popping.  Each week they feature some very cool stamps.   You can sign up here on Karen's blog or here on the Crackerbox Palace blog.
Anyway, I just had to ink these up as soon as I got them.  I loved that bowl full of pop corn as soon as I saw the example and those individual kernels just scream to be "popped".  A little bit of yellow copic to add that buttery flavor and you have a super cute card. They also have a very cute sentiment that fits this perfectly - "Just Poppin' in to wish you a ............."
The cool thing I didn't realize is that Crackerbox Palace is from right here in Wisconsin.  Wow! We Wisconsinites, are some very talented folks *giggles*

Have I Mentioned That I'm an Insomniac???

Time:  3:00 a.m.

I've had tons on my mind lately.  Some things are NOT great but  some things are wonderful and have me looking to the future.  With all these things on my mind, I have been struggling to get a good night sleep. Tonight I did an absolute no-no.  Insomnia 101: Rule # 1 - when you have a night when you can't sleep, never....... I mean NEVER do something that will stimulate your brain.  Only do relaxing, peaceful things (ie. read, drink some warm milk or some sleepy time tea).  Ummmm, yeah, obviously I did not obey rule #1.   I decided to look at some stamping stuff, which led to me looking at the challenge over at Meljens Design - tags.   I LOVE making tags.  Sigh!  So much for not stimulating the brain!!

I am really just kidding.  I was able to whip these cuties up in about 15-20 minutes.  They do have me inspired though.  I'd like to make a few sets of these and post them in my Etsy shop - all proceeds going to breast cancer research, of course.
One of my favorite digi stamp companies is Meljen's design and this hope ribbon is awesome.  Breast cancer has had a huge impact in my life (my Mother was a survivor - she had breast cancer in the late 60's), so this image hits my heart. So super simple to color but makes a huge statement.

Pardon my blury picture.  My photography skills are not great at this time of the night! lol! Not only did I pop the layers of the tag but I also popped that cute little heart in the middle of the ribbon.

More soon - but hopefully not anymore tonight : )

Card Club Challenge Cards - Day 2

The challenge for this months card club is Christmas in July.......okay August but we had the whole month of July to work on it.  The twist is that we couldn't use the traditional Christmas colors - Red or Green.   I totally cheated on this one.  I happen to have a pack of Christmas paper left over from last year that was all very unique colors - this purple, very bright greens and some brownish yellows.  Just colors you don't normally see in a Christmas paper pack.  That paper worked perfect for this challenge.
It doesn't show up on the photo, but I used a glitter gel pen on the snow angel to give it the diamonds in the snow effect.  This is a super old Stampin' Up stamp but its still super cute.  Just one of those classic ones that will always be a favorite.

This second card is more paper from that same paper pack.  I went for the classic white on white look but I think I've accented it with enough of the purple and brown paper to it a non traditional look.   These were such fun challenges this month - made them very fun to make.

I can't wait to see what projects we make at club tomorrow and what our challenges are for next month will be.  Our club is made up of such an awesome group of ladies, we always have a great time.

It's Card Club this week - yeah!!!

It's card club at my LSS this week.  I can't wait.  We don't meet during the month of July just because its such a crazy time of the year.  I was not able to make it the month before (we were out of town) so it seems like FOREVER since we've met.   I can't wait for Tuesday!

Each month we have  a sketch challenge and then we have a seperate challenge such as a color, design or tool challenge.  Our challenges for this much were so fun.  This is what I made for our sketch challenge, but I went off the board a little bit and dec'd out a gift bag instead of making a card.  I love mixing things up a little bit with a 3-D or altered item so this was fun for me.

Tomorrow I'll show you the cards I made for our other challenge.

thanks so much for stopping
