SOTW - Leaf Motif

It's Stamp Of The Week (SOTW) Monday, and I've been having a blast playing with this weeks featured image.  It's called Leaf Motif 6621-I from the India section of the Passport Series at Repeat Impressions.  In case you aren't familiar, since this image is the SOTW, it is on sale for 50% off this week only.  Go here to see the full details.

My colors of choice this week have been red, black and white.  It turned out to be a very striking color combo to use with this stamp.  First I stamp this image side-by-side 3 times to create this border.

The card still needed something, so I stamped this image twice - in a mirror image of each other to create the flower accent.  I scored it in quarters to give it some dimension and added this large, glittery brad as the finishing touch.

What If? Wednesday - Sketch J2613

It seems like a very, very long time since I've posted.  Hard to believe its only been a week.  Its another busy summer, but I'm not complaining.

Its good to get back on track with a sketch challenge - here is this weeks Repeat Impressions sketch.

Here is my card for this challenge.  This image is called Spring Blossoms - 1320-M.  

After coloring the image with my Copic markers, the card was calling for purple paper.  

Here's a close up - I popped the image to give it some dimension.

DCC Wednesday - Summer Landscape

Cheri selected the DCC at Repeat Impressions this week and its a very appropriate one - summer images, something you might see in a summer landscape.  Repeat Impressions has a wide range of outdoor and summery images so there is plenty to choose from.

These summery flower caught my eye.  This image is called Daisy & Butterfly from Beautiful Day collection. 

Here's close up of these sweet flowers and you can see that I popped the butterfly.

SOTW - Heart Air Balloon

Sometimes, when you see a stamp, you know exactly what your going to do with it.  That's how I felt when I saw this weeks SOTW - Heart Air Balloon 9114-I.  I have seen several places online where people are inking a background to look like clouds.  I have been hoping to try this technique and this lovely hot air balloon was my opportunity to do that.

Then, about a week ago, my husband came into the house with a stack of old maps from one of our vehicles.  He said I should toss (recycle) whatever I don't want.   I knew exactly how I was going to be using those maps.  I love when things come together like that *smiles*.   What could possibly make this better??? - how about the fact that since this image is the featured SOTW, it is 50% off, this week only.

Here's my card using the SOTW - Heart Air Balloon - 9114-I, the inked background that looks like clouds, AND my husbands map in 3-D to create the balloon.   Love it!!!

Here's a close up.  This verse is also a RI image called Beautiful Days 9206-H.  

On the old maps, I stamped the balloon image 5 or 6 times.   I cut out each image just inside the ink line - creating just a heart shape.  I then folded each heart shape straight down the center, then glued these pieces, wrong sides together - creating a 3-D piece.  I then glued my 3-D balloon onto an image I had stamped on my background.  A really simple way to create an interested affect.

S.A.S.4K. - 4 the Girls

I love S.A.S.4K.'s Saturday. We always have fun challenges for a great cause - creating cards for children who are in children's hospitals around the country.  Today's challenge is a great one - creating cards '4 the girls'.

Saturated Canary Challenge #44 - Hair That is Different

I took a little time to just play today.  Over the weekend there was an awesome sale over at Saturated Canary.  Who can resist those adorable images.

I've been coloring some of my new images so I decided to play along with the current challenge on the Saturated Canary blog.   So fun!!!!

Isn't she just so darn cute.  I love the Copic marker behind her ear.

SOTW at Repeat Impressions - Swan Love

I don't know about you, but this weekend just flew by.  Wow!  Where did it go? Our son was home this weekend - Yeah! - which always makes it a great weekend in my book.  I hope you had a great weekend as well.

It's Stamp Of The Week Monday and Repeat Impressions is featuring a very beautiful stamps again this week.  This image is called Swan Love 4321-J and since it is the SOTW, it is on sale this week for a whopping 50% off.

I think this image is a perfect feature to create a beautiful wedding or anniversary card - that's what I had in mind when I created this card.

I left the inside of this card blank since I'm not sure which occasion might be coming up first, but I think this card will be perfect for either one.
