Today is one of my BFF's birthday! That makes it a fun day for all of us. We all get together to have lunch, some good laughs and fun times with some great ladies. We all need to do that some time and this is just a great group to do that with.
Here is the card I made. I normally don't post the cards I give to friends but I love how this one turned out, so I just have to post it.
This is just one of those 'less is more' kind of cards. The image is so striking (I absolutely love Saturated Canary Images - Krista is amazing. Seriously, you can almost feel that breeze that's blowing the grass & this little girls hair around), that I just kept the rest of the card super simple.
Here's a close up. The grass was so easy to color - just did some feathering with my Copic markers and its done. I really love how it turned out.
I am also entering this card in the challenge over on the Saturated Canary Blog - Challenge #40-Pretty Pastels.
Happy Birthday PK - I hope you had a great day
Joyce
My husband and I are retired and I do crafts as we travel. It might be card making, it might be crocheting, or any number of projects

S.A.S.4K. Round 3
A few weeks ago, we announced the challenge at the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog - see my original post. I had so much fun creating those cards that I made another that I posted here. Now I've got one more. I love this adorable image from Squigglefly.
Isn't she just the cutest?!? Here's a close up.
She's adorable right down to the that little bitty lady bug in her hair.
Remember, there still time to enter a card in the S.A.S.4K. - Anything Goes 4 Kids challenge. Go here to see the full details.

DCC Challenge - Spring Flowers
We are having another Designers Choice Challenge (DCC) at Repeat Impressions. This weeks challenge was chosen by Geri Utterback - Spring Flowers. Repeat Impressions has so many beautiful flower images, it's hard to choose just one but I always seem to go back to my favorite - Vase of Tulips - 1317-L.
Here's my close up. I've colored this image in yellow, blue and now red and it looks lovely every time.
Now, don't forget, this is a challenge so that means you can play along too. Since Mother Nature hasn't brought us spring flowers yet (at least, not in my area), I'd love if you help create some. Post your card on the Repeat Impressions blog, and you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store. You can see the creations by the other RI Rock Stars here and the full rules for the challenge.
Thanks so much and I hope you play along!

Better Late Than Never - RI SOTW - Pussy Willows
Do you ever have those times when you know you should be doing something but your not quite sure what it is. You just know your forgetting something. Well, that's where I've been at but the good news is that I figured out what it was that I was forgetting - to post to my blog today. Ugh!!! Sorry Wendy & my fellow Repeat Impressions Rock Stars. I forgot to create my SOTW post.
It wasn't till I was on my lunch break at work today that I was flipping through Facebook on my phone and I spotted the RI post. I thought "hey, that's my card!!!! Uh oh, I never created a post about that card". Since I was at work, I wasn't able to correct that error until now.
Well, better late than never, here is my SOTW blog post. I've never seen pussy willows quite like this before, have you? This adorable image is call just that - Pussy Willow - 4306-N and this week it is 50% off. You gotta love a bargain like that!!!!
Here's my card. I've been lovin' these mosaic style cards other folks have been creating. I have really been hoping to try this myself. I thought this was the perfect image to try it on. I think it turned out really nice.
So don't be as forgetful as me, you can get this cute pussy willow image at a very special price this week - be sure to go see how.
While your there, check out the two great challenges that are going on right now. A Perfect opportunity to win a great prize. Go here to find out how.
Thanks for stopping by,

Birthday Wishes!!!
This last year has been full of ups and downs for me but one of the greatest high points of the year was being chosen for the design team at Repeat Impressions. Being on a design team has been a goal of mine for a very long time so to be lucky enough to be on the Repeat Impressions team has been quite a blessing to me.
Wendy Wyman is the owner and designer of Repeat Impressions Stamps. It's her birthday today and her 50th birthday at that!!! Wendy is celebrating by having a sale (you can find the details on the Repeat Impressions Facebook page) at the RI store. I am celebrating by making a very special card for Wendy - of using a Repeat Impressions image.
Here's my card - Happy Birthday Wendy and thanks for a very special year.
This amazing images is called Hydrangea 9205-O from the Beautiful Day series. That whole series is gorgeous and this is one of my favorites.
Here's another close up.
Thanks again, Wendy!!! I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

S.A.S.4K. - week 2
Last Saturday, S.A.S.4K's posted this challenge - it's anything goes for kids. Here is my post about that challenge. I was on such a roll making cards, that I made a few extra's. One I'm posting here, and the other I will post at a later date - just need to put the finishing touches on it. We are at our sons this weekend so I promised no paper crafts all weekend - they don't understand the sacrifice that is. lol!!!!
Anyway, here is another card I created using a Sassy Studios image - lovin' these!!!
I'm lovin' the 'tude this girl is giving off - just kind of a 'fight like a girl' spunk. Unfortunately, there are a lot of sick tweens in the children's hospitals too and I thought this might be great card to inspire one of them to keep fighting.
I took inspiration from the image on her t-shirt and added wings behind the focal point. Here's a close up so you can see that a little better.
Just a fun, fun image to work with and a really fun card to make.
So there is still time to play along with the 'anything goes for kids' challenge on the S.A.S.4K. Better yet, donate hand made cards to be given to sick kiddos in children's hospitals around the country. You know how much a card brightens your day - Image what one would do for them. See here how to do that.
BTW - I did bring some crocheting with me this weekend. lol!!
Have a super weekend

It's What If? Wednesday at Repeat Impressions - that means a sketch challenge. As always, they have a great sketch for us. Here's the sketch -
I went for a very manly, masculine look on this card. Repeat Impressions has a lot of outdoors and wilderness stamps that I really like.

In this close up, you can see that I've embossed the background circles to give them some texture and some distressing.

DCC - Use a Brayer or Sponging
It's DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this weeks challenge was selected by Karen Hasheck - using a brayer or sponging.
I went with a very clean and simple card. We are really, really sick of snow around here but I still love this classic snowflake stamp from Repeat Impressions - 8805-K Snowflakes. I also used just a portion of the verse - 8810-H Snow much Fun. This full stamp says "Hope your holidays are Snow much fun!" Since its no longer the holiday season, I just went with the portion of the image that says "Snow much Fun!" I masked an area and sponged it with a blue ink and then stamped these lovely snowflakes with a little darker shade of blue.
So now its your turn - create a card using a brayer and/or sponging, link it on the Repeat Impressions blog and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the RI store. Go here to find out the complete rules
I hope you'll play along.

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #175 Anything goes
It's been a while, but I finally was able to play along with Mo's DP2 challenge blog. This weeks challenge is #175 - Anything goes with a Mo image.
Here's my card. I also made this card for my card club - we meet Tuesday - that challenge was to use paint samples on a project. I originally had used just the paint strips with the buttons but it was just missing something. What better way to spruce up this card but to add an adorable Mo image.
Here's a close up - a little blurry.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

SOTW - Easter Balloons
It's another Stamp of the Week (SOTW) Monday and this week, the featured stamp at Repeat Impressions is 4507-J Easter Balloons. This week is your chance to get this awesome stamp for 50% off. Go here to find out how.
We are still in the grip of winter here in Central Wisconsin, so I am ready to see some green grass. Its no different for paper crafting - I am just ready to use some bright colors to get out of those winter blahs.
When I'm creating with bright and vibrant colors, I turn to my 6 X 6 Echo Park paper packs. They seem to use a lot of bright colors but they are not harsh or overpowering. Just fun, uplifting colors.
I had a blast creating this card. It certainly got me in the spring/Easter spirit, even if the view outside doesn't match the spirit inside.
Don't forget, you can grab yourself some Easter spirit this week at a 50% discount - grab this fun Easter image while you can. Be sure to see what the other RI Rock Stars have created.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
