What If? Wednesday Sketch Challenge at Repeat Impressions

We are officially in the Christmas rush but I'm still taking time out for What If? Wednesday at Repeat Impressions.  It's sketch week and wow, do I love this sketch.

n2812

So happy with how this card turned out.  I think this is the card I'll be sending to our families this year but, shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell them.  Let it be a surprise.

Heres's a close up.  I stamped the Repeat Impressions stamp 3805-J Winters Eve with versa mark then heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  Matted on silver glitter paper, the image just pops.

More silver paper to create the banner and embossing the white background makes a huge statement.  I was totally impressed by this Sizzix embossing folder.  I get very nervous when the folders have such sharp lines. I've had some (not sure of the brand) that just seem to cut or tear the paper but this one gave me crisps scores every time.  I was very pleased with the effect it gave to the card.

Now its your chance to take a break from the Christmas rush to play along with the What If? Wednesday sketch.  Just design your own card using this awesome sketch found above, post it to the link here on the Repeat Impressions blog and you have a chance at a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store. Now that's a great early Christmas present. Their stamps are the good stuff - great quality and they give a perfect image every time.

I hope you'll play along!

Please note - I am entering this card in the

SOTW - Peaceful Observation

The best part of my Monday? - it's SOTW day at Repeat Impressions.  Yeah!!!  Make it the best part of your Monday as well.  Each week the featured stamp at Repeat Impressions is at a huge discount - 50% off.  This week, that featured stamp is 2001-M Peaceful Observation.  This beautiful image makes a huge statement on any card.

Here is my take on this lovely image.......

Here is a close up of some of the details on the card.   I used a glitter glue on each of the snowflakes and I pieced and popped the bow on the cats collar.  I'm not sure if this content cat is waiting for Santa or its owner but it is all decked out for the arrival of someone special.

How about those buttons?  Earlier this year, we were packing up my Mom's house.  I inherited 2 (Miracle Whip) jars of buttons.  I especially love the uniquely shaped ones like this square one.  You are sure to see more from that collection in the future.

Now is your chance to snag this lovely image.....and at a bargain.  Be quick about it.  Its on sale this week only.   Go here for the details.  While your there, check what some of the other Repeat Impression Rockstars did with this great stamp.  You will certainly be impressed and inspired.

I'm heading off to work today but its a short week for me.  I only work Monday and Tuesday.  Our kiddo comes home from college on Wednesday evening so we have lots to look forward to.......and lots to be thankful for.

More soon

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #141 - Belated Birthday

There's another fun challenge at the Sassy Cheryl Blog this week - Belated Birthday.   I'm notorious for sending cards out cards late - even if I have the cards made way ahead, somehow I still end up sending them out late.  Did that again, just this week, so making a belated birthday card ahead is not a bad idea at all.

Here is my belated birthday card.

Here's a close up of the verse I created.  I don't have a sentiment stamp that fit quite right, so I printed one on the computer.

Here's a look at the inside of the card.  This stamp is designed by the owner of my LSS - The Stamp Shoppe.    Happy Belated Birthday - its a stamp that I use often........far too often.

Thanks so much for looking.
Joyce

Supplies:
Stamps - Sassy Cheryl digital image, verse "happy belated Birthday" - Stamp Shoppe Creations
Ink - Momento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Paper - S*E*I - With all my Heart.  Card stock - basic white, burgandy, red
Tools & Accessories - Copic markers, SU! scallope border punch, Score Buddy score board

Trying something new on Etsy

Gift tags seem to be so popular right now and I know not everyone has all the supplies need to create tags, so I decided to create a make-you-own gift tag kit.

This kit includes enough supplies to create 12 gift tags - 6 with a red base and 6 with a green base.  Just decorate the white portion any way you choose.  The kit includes enough foam tape to assemble your tags.  Not only do they look great on a gift but they are the perfect size to go on the recpients tree to have as a keepsake.

They can be found on my Etsy shop - here.   If your interested but would like them in a different quantity or with a different color base, just let me know.   We can work something out.

Thanks for looking!!

Here is my take on this sketch.

This gorgeous image is Rebecca - 708-K - from Repeat Impressions.  This is an image that speaks for itself.  It doesn't matter what paper or embellishments you add, this image alone makes the card.  The verse is also from Repeat Impressions - 3916-F - Celebrating You

Playing with a digi image.

It's card club this week at my LSS - the Stamp Shoppe.   Each month we have a sketch challenge and another challenge- whatever one of the club members picks for us.  This month it was Tammy's turn and both her picks were fun ones.  Her choice challenge was to use fabric on a project.  I still haven't finished that one - better get going since club it Tuesday night.  YES!  I am a procrastinator.  : )

I did get this card finished.  This is my version of the sketch she selected for us.

A few months ago, I was on a kick using red, then when fall came around I went into the brown, beige, orange mode.  Now I'm on to pink, purple and pail green.  Not sure what that's all about, but I'm goin' with it.

I'm going to do something I never do.  I'm going to enter this card in several challenges.  Generally, I only enter one challenge at a time, but I found that this card fits several current challenges.

I am submitting this in the following challenges - hopefully, I'm complying with all the rules.
I can't wait to see what the other ladies have made.  Show 'n tell is so fun and I am always inspired the amazingly talented ladies in the club.

Now to get back to that other challenge - a card with fabric.

Thanks much!

Just a quick update!!

Recently, I posted this card featuring the Repeat Impressions Original Snow Angel image.  I had a few folks ask me what embossing folder I used on this. It is the Darice Scroll Flourish Corner.  I purchased mine here at Consumer Crafts.

They have a huge selection of embossing folders.  A lot of times they are sold out and it takes a while to restock but they offer some great prices and generally shipping is very reasonable.  I know they have a special on shipping this weekend for Veterans Day - 1.97 for shipping.

Here's a close up showing the detail of this folder and how a gave it just a touch of Stickles.

I hope that helps!

DCC Challenge - Anything Showing Thanks

Its DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impression - That's the Designer Choice Challenge.   Repeat Impression Rockstar Geri selected the challenge this time around and its a good one.  She has challenged us to create a project that shows "thanks".  With everything going on right now - the storms, the economy, this crazy election and with Thanksgiving just around the corner - its the perfect time to reflect on all the things we are thankful for in our lives.

Here is my project.....

I love this super cute scarecrow stamp - Scarecrow & Friend - 3309-K and what better way to top it off than this classic "Happy Thanksgiving" verse - 1140-E.

Here's a closer view of how easy it is to color this image with Copic markers or whatever pens or pencils you might use.

Now is your chance to play along and show your thankfulness.  Just create a project, link it to the Repeat Impressions blog and you will be entered for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store. See the rules and the deadlines here.   I can't wait to see what you have created.

I hope you'll play along

Sassy Cheryl - Round About

Edit:  I've been reminded that this is a Mo's Digital Pencil image and not a Sassy Cheryl image.  I love, love, love the images from both artists.

I'm not sure if I caught the deadline or not, but this is my entry in the Sassy Cheryl challenge for this week - Round About.  Creating a card that's anything other than a square/rectangle.  I submit this just as the clock was striking 5:00 eastern time.  Yikes!!! talk about cutting it close.  Hopefully I still qualified.

Anyway, here is my entry.  I love this Sassy Cherly image - where the stars in the sky are the most wonderous thing.  We should all take time to look at the wonders of the world around us.

I used a 4" X 4" card base and extended the oval beyond the base.

I love creating a card that is different than the standard A2 card so this was super fun to do.  Glad I played along......even if I did push the deadline

Thanks much for stopping by

SOTW - For the Beauty of the Earth

Its Monday again..... ugh!!!.....but there is one thing that will make this day much better - its time for the Stamp of the Week (SOTW) at Repeat Impressions.  Now that's a pick-me-up!!! and heading into Thanksgiving, this is a great stamp to feature.  The SOTW is 'For the Beauty' - 3213-G.

I have been using this stamp often lately.  Its great for any Thanksgiving tag, card, wine bottle tag, place card, or treat favor.  It makes the perfect statement on any Thanksgiving project.

Here is my card.....

Here's a close up to give you a better look at the rhinestones.

I used paper from 2 of my favorite paper companies - My Minds Eye and Authentique.  Each color block is mounted on basic chocolate colored card stock.  The verse is cut out with a standard oval nesties but its mounted with MFT Die-namics oval doily (love it!!).   I have been having fun lately using my adhesive rhinestone flourishes.  These are your basic Michael's Recollections gems but, wow, I love the effect it has on any project.  Must stock up on those!

If you would like to add this touching verse to your collection, this is the week to do it.  This week the SOTW is 50% off in the Repeat Impressions store.  Wow! Now that's something to be thankful for.  Go here to see how you can pick up this stamp at a great price.

Thanks so much for stopping!
Joyce
