I had a little time this weekend so I made a point of sneaking in a card for the Meljen's Mini Challenge. Every week, Meljen's Designs has a free digi image and if you create a card with that image, you can enter it in the mini challenge they have on facebook.
This week Meljen's was giving out this adorable corner spider web with that dangling spider. Super cute, right? I colored in the spider with my Copic markers and outline the web with my Spica. That "boo" sentiment is another Meljen's image.
I'm so glad I got a chance to play along!

My husband and I are retired and I do crafts as we travel. It might be card making, it might be crocheting, or any number of projects

Meljen's Designs Challenge #224 - Hanging Out
Did you see this weeks challenge over at Meljen's Designs? - Hanging Out. It scared me little when I first read it, but it actually ended up being very fun. I have this super cute Meljen's image called Little Possum so that made it pretty easy for me. What says 'hanging out' more than a little opossum hanging from a tree. lol!!!
I hope you had a super weekend!

Today is my last card as a guest design team member with Meljen’s Designs. Sniff, sniff!!! I have really enjoyed being part of this fun team and I’m disappointed it’s over so soon. My time went so fast.
Our challenge today is something different. It’s called Feature Presentation - using a movie as your inspiration. When I saw this adorable image, it totally said ‘good witch’ to me which leads me to think of the ‘Wizard of Oz’. Isn’t she just the sweetest witch ever? I added some blue gingham (a la Dorothy’s dress) and some red glitter paper, to represent the ruby slippers. Super cute and a super fun challenge.
So what is your movie inspiration card? Link that card to the Meljen’s Designs Challenge Blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for some Meljen’s images. Remember – you must use a Meljen’s image – see the complete rules here.
I hope you take the time to play along with this fun challenge.

Meljen's Design - Happy Birthday Melissa
There is a very special birthday in the Meljen's Designs family - It's Melissa birthday and to celebrate, we are making special birthday cards.
For my card, I used Meljen's Birthday Cake Mouse image. So super cute!! and so simple to color. I created the 3-D candle by simply rolling some printed paper, then adding some unraveled yarn as the flame.
Don't forget, Melissa is having a huge sale - 50% off all images so this adorable images is only $1.50. This sale only runs through July 4th, so stock up while you can. I snagged some images at those great prices.
This is a challenge so you can make a card in honor of Melissa's birthday too. Link that card to the Meljen's Designs Challenge Blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for some Meljen's images.
Happy Birthday Melissa! I hope you have a super day!

Meljen's Challenge #212- Sketch Challenge
I have really been enjoying my time as guest designer on the Meljen's design team. This week we have another fun challenge - a sketch.
For my card, I used Meljen's Designs image - Acorn Mouse. What a cute image and I love how the acorns turned out. I colored them using a couple of my favorite Copic color combos - E51, E53, & E55 for the acorn cap and E31, E33 & E35 for the nut.
Instead of a sentiment I colored an additional acorn image and popped it to add dimension.
Now its your turn. Create your own card using the sketch above for inspiration. Remember, you must always use at least one Meljen image. Link that card to the Meljen's Challenge blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for Meljen's Design images.
Thanks for joining me.

Meljen's Design Challenge #210 - Floral Fantasy
This is my 2nd week playing along as a guest design team member for Meljen's Designs and this week they are having an especially fun challenge - Floral Fantasy. If you follow me at all, you will know that I look at things from different point of view than most people. Give me a challenge called floral fantasy and what I'm do I use as my focal point??? - a skunk. lol!!! This skunk image is super sweet - Little Skunk.
I hadn't crocheted in years but recently I've pulled out my yarn and hooks I'm really lovin' it all over again. I came across a pattern for these adorable little flowers on Pinterest and figured this would be the perfect way to combine both my hobbies and create a unique embellishment for my cards. I think it turned out pretty cool!
So what is your floral fantasy? What would you use as your focal point? lol!! I'd love to see it. Create your own floral fantasy card, link it to the Meljen's Design's Challenge Blog and you'll be entered into a random drawing for Meljen's Design digital images. Remember, to be qualified for any prizes, you must use a Meljen's image on your project.
Have a great Thursday!

Meljen's Challenge #201 - Lucky You! and Guest Design Team Entry
This weeks challenge at Meljen's Designs is a festive one - #201 Lucky You! I've been following Meljen's Designs for several years now and try my best to sneak in to play along with their challenges. This is not only their weekly challenge but it is also their Guest Design Team (GDT) member challenge. Maybe this card will bring me luck and they'll choose me to officially play along with them. I would love that!!!
What better way to stay with the Lucky You! theme than to create a St. Patrick's Day Card and this Meljen's image called Lucky Duck is perfect for that.

Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Punches and/or Dies 4 Kids
It's a glorious day in Central Wisconsin. The sun is bright, the temps are fairly decent (mid 20's). More of a normal winter day but somehow it seems absolutely fabulous compared to the weather we've been having this winter.
What could make that bright day even brighter? A challenge from Send A Smile 4 Kids and this weeks challenge is one of my fav's - Punches and/or Dies 4 Kids.
Before I show you my cards, I must tell you about this weeks amazing sponsors.
This fun image on my first card is from The Cutting Cafe' - what an adorable sweet treat. This classic saying takes me back to when I was a kid. Keeping in mind this weeks challenge is to use punches and/or dies, I went a little over the top. The image is cut out with my petite oval Spellbinders and then matted with my scalloped petite oval Spellbinders. I used a flourish from a very old Sizzix classic die. On the background I used a Martha Stewart lattice work border punch and I also used Fiskar's stitches border punch. I think that fulfills the requirements of the challenge. LOL!!

Before I show you my cards, I must tell you about this weeks amazing sponsors.
- The Cutting Cafe' - is awarding 3 digi or cutting files of the winners choice.
- Meljen's Design - is giving one lucky winner 4 non-colored images of that winners choice.
- Oak Pond Creations is giving 1 digi image of the winners choice.

I'm very pleased to welcome Meljen's Designs as a sponsor to SAS4K. I have been a follower of Meljen for several years so I squealed when I found out they were going to become one of our sponsors. We're soooooo glad you've joined us. This adorable images is called Little Girl Bear Hugs. So adorable!!!! I thought this image would be perfect for my current favorite style. I love this very simple style of using a plain white card to feature an amazing image and just adding some banners across the top. To keep with the theme of the challenge, I used a couple different punches. The banners are made using my EK Success punch and the border is made using a Martha Stewart border punch.
Now its your turn to play along. Dig out your punches and/or dies and create a card 4 kids. Link that card to the SAS4K blog and you will be entered into a random drawing where you could win one of those amazing prizes from our sponsors. Meljen - Black Out
Things are getting busy around here but I wanted to take the time to play along with this weeks challenge at Meljen's Design. Their challenge this week is Black Out - using a black card base. That's a freebie for me. Lately black has been my 'go to' color.
Here's a close up of my card so you can see all the bling and that I popped the sentiment - also a Meljen image.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Meljen Challenge #172 - Wishing You Were Here
Every so often I drop by Meljen's Design's. I love her digi images and they have fun challenges as well. This week is no different - the challenge is called 'wishing you were here'. I actually need a 'missing you' card, so this works out perfect for me.
Here is my card...... Isn't this image adorable? So fun to color up with my Copic markers.

Meljen's Challenge # 168 - Tag-you're it!!!
For the last few weeks I've had some projects that were taking up much of my crafting time, then we were on vacation out west. Now we're back and its been fun to be between projects because I have been playing just for fun. No schedules, no deadlines, no Etsy orders. Just playing for fun. I love that!!!
One of my favorite blogs to stop at is Meljen's Designs. There is always something fun going on there. I don't generally get to play along with the challenges but this weeks, since I'm doing projects just for fun, I decided to make a point of getting in on this challenge. It's one of my favorites - Tag-you're it!!! Whoop Whoop!!
Here's my tag using a Meljen image. Isn't this snowman adorable? I can see myself using this image a lot this Christmas. So super cute.
This image is called the Christmas Star Snowman.
Lets see, can I sneak a few more projects in before I have to get back on schedule? *giggles* Let's see what else I can post this week.
