Repeat Impressions - DCC Challenge - Fall

Its a DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this weeks challenge was chosen by Geri - Fall.   Fall is my favorite season - I love the colors, the smells and those gorgeous sunny fall days.  Wish the season would last for 6 month.

Today's card is my last card as a Repeat Impressions Rockstar.  I have been part of this amazing design team for 2 years.   Wendy & Bill from RI are amazing people and working with them has truly been a treat.  I can't thank them enough for their generosity and kindness.

For my fall card, I used some of my favorite RI images. 2908-I Shade of the Elm & 5127-G Maple Leaf Sill.  I've used this elm tree image numerous times but always with bright summer greens.  This is the first time I've colored this same image with 'fall leaves'.   I love how it turned out.  Hard to believe this is the same image.  How fun.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your own fall card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.
Don't forget to go here to see the cards by the rest of the Repeat Impressions RockStars.

I hope you get a chance to play along.

RI - DCC - Black, White & Gray

This week, the Repeat Impressions DCC challenge was selected by Cheri - Black, White & Gray.  I love using black, white and any other color, so this challenge is right up my alley.

For my card, I used one of my favorite RI images called 708-K - Rebecca. I colored this image with all gray Copic markers to make it look like a black and white photo.  I think that stark look is so striking.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your black, white & gray card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions - DCC Challenge - Celebrate Birthday's

This weeks Repeat Impressions DCC challenge was selected by Melissa - Celebrate Birthday's.  We can never have enough birthday cards on hand so not only is this a fun challenge but it helps supply my card stash too.  lol!!!

For my card I used 2 RI images.  That adorable dancing bunny is 2610-J Jump For Joy.  Seriously, isn't he just the sweetest thing?   That vertical sentiment is also a RI image - 6104-J Birthday Vertical.  RI has an amazing assortment of vertical images and sentiments.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your own birthday card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

DCC - Blues

It's DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and its my turn to pick the challenge - I've chosen blues.

For my blue card, I used one of my favorite RI images - 708-K Rebecca.  I used blue, blue & more blue on this card.  I colored her dress with blue Copic markers, matted with blue card stock, layered on a couple different styles of blue printed paper, then added a blue rhinestone flourish.  Too much?   I think its just right.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your 'blue' card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions - DCC Wednesday - Sparkle, Glitter, Bling

I'm home from a nice, relaxing week of vacation, camping in Northern Wisconsin.   My time away was exactly what I needed.  Just peace, quiet and a break away from everyday life.

I'm home just in time to play along with the DCC challenge at Repeat Impressions.  This weeks challenge was chosen by Karen - she has picked Sparkle, Glitter, Bling.

For my card, I used Repeat Impressions 8721-I Floral Peace (lg).  I love this fun image and I have used it several times but I was thrilled when I found this printed paper that matches perfectly. Better yet, the printed paper has sparkle to it - perfect for this challenge.  First I colored this image with Copic markers but then I topped it off with some glitter Spica markers to add some glitter.  If that wasn't enough, I matted that image and the background paper with teal glitter paper.  That sentiment is also from RI. That's a from the Quartet Complements series - 8623-D Brighten.  I added a shiny teal pearl to that sentiment for a little bling.

I know its hard to see the sparkle, glitter & bling, so here is a close up.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your own Sparkle, Glitter, Bling card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions DCC Wednesday - Summer Fun

It's time for DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this week Brenda has selected our challenge - Summer Fun.

My husband and I have taken some time to do some kayaking the last couple of summer.  Nothing crazy, just some relaxing rides on our favorite lake.  To me, kayaking is summer fun.  This RI image 2918-K Kayaker. is the perfect image to reflect that.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your own summer fun card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions - Fur or Winged Things

Happy DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions.  Deonna selected this weeks challenge - Fur or Winged Things.  That is an awesome challenge because Repeat Impressions has a huge selection of both fur & winged images - everything from an actual bear to soft fuzzy teddy bears.  Pretty little butterflies, sweet little fairies, all the way to long legged cranes.

I chose one of my favorite RI images - 7122-G Yikes Cat from the Funny Bone series.  I have inked up this image several times and I am pleased with it every time I use it.  It's always makes me smile.  That adorable vertical sentiment is RI - 8213-E I Love Cats.   I love vertical images and that one is especially sweet.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create own Fur or Winged Thing card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions - Shaped Cards

It's time for another DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this weeks challenge has been chosen by Karen.  She has challenged us to create shaped cards.

For my shaped card, I used a couple RI images.  The sentiment is 9314-E Sew Special from the Pairings Series.  Those buttons are part of an RI image called  4126-G Cute as a Button.  I used just the button portion of the image, colored it, then stitched it to the card stock to make it look like a button card.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your shaped card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions DCC - Baby Cards

Its time for a DCC challenge at Repeat Impressions and this weeks challenge was selected by Joy.  She has chosen baby themed cards.

For my card, I used RI image 805-L Noah's Ark. This is an image from the RI toy series but I think it goes perfect on a baby card.  I colored the image with my Copic markers, and inked the background to create the water.  I went with some non traditional colors for this card but I think it turned out great.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your baby card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impresssions - Monochromatic

It's DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this week Deonna has selected our challenge - Monochromatic.

For my card I've used one of my favorite Repeat Impression's images - 1601-K Bear Hug.

I love the look of coloring an image like a black and white photo so I kept that in mind for the monochromatic challenge.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your own monochromatic card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

DCC - Bird Watching

It's DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this weeks challenge was selected by Cheri - Bird Watching.  Repeat Impressions has a large selection of bird images making this a super fun challenge.

For my card, I used Repeat Impressions 2906-I  Bottoms Up.  Also, Wendy has given me the okay to give you a  sneak peak at this sentiment.  It's part of a new series that RI will be releasing in a few weeks.  It works perfectly with this row of ducks.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your bird watching card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions DCC - For the Boys

It's a DCC challenge Wednesday at Repeat Impressions.  This weeks challenge was chosen by Karen - For the Boys.

For my card, I used RI image 9118-K Chevy.    Guys cards can be difficult to create but with an awesome image like this, it can be very easy.  The printed paper has that little bit of a swirl to give it some accent and the center panel is matted on black and popped to give it plenty of dimension.

The best part about a challenge is that you get to play along.   Create your on masculine card, link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions DCC - Happy Easter!

It's starting to feel like spring here in Central Wisconsin.  Temperatures in the 50's and the snow is melting quickly.  It's really starting to feel like the Easter season.  This weeks Repeat Impression's DCC challenge was chosen by Joy - Happy Easter.

For my Easter card, I used 3 Repeat Impressions images - 705-G Duckling, 3906-H Easter Blessings, & the ribbon border is 1502-L, Lace Ribbon Border.

Repeat Impressions DCC - Things With Wings

Happy Wednesday!  It's a DCC Wednesday at Repeat Impressions and this weeks challenge was selected by RI RockStar Brenda Turner - Things With Wings.   If you've ever had a chance to look through the RI shop, you know that there are tons of images with wings - birds, butterflies, fairies.

I've chosen a couple of RI images for my card.  First I used the 5901-M, Wings Negative - I stamped that with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.  For dimension, I added RI 107-F Monarch Butterfly.  On the mini doily I added RI sentiment 9313-D Sweet from the Pairings Series.

How many images do you have with wings?   I bet you have a lot, like me.   Bring those out.  Create your card 'with wings'.  Link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Wendy has quite an amazing selection to choose from.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Repeat Impressions DCC - Flower Show

It's time for a DCC Challenge at Repeat Impressions and Cheri has made an awesome choice - Flower Show.   Love it!!!  Repeat Impressions has an amazing selection of flower images and we finally have temps above freezing around here.  Flowers almost seem like a possibility now.

For my card, I used RI image 919-I Iris Window.  My mother was an avid gardener in her day and she had a selection of irises in basically every color.  That's the look I was going for on my Flower Show card.

These iris squares are raised to add dimension.

Now it is your turn to create your own Flower Show card.  Link it here on the Repeat Impressions blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for a sheet of unmounted images from the RI store.   You can see the complete rules here.

I hope there are many beautiful blooms in your future.

Repeat Impressions DCC - All Heart

I am very pleased to have selected this weeks challenge at Repeat Impressions - All Heart.

For my card, I used RI image 1216-O Ruffled Heart Border.  In the center of the heart, I used RI image 1203-F, Happy Valentine's Day.  Earlier this week, Melissa Cash showed you her project of the week, creating a card using acetate.  We didn't plan this, but my card is also created using acetate.

Here's a look at my card from another angle.  One important thing to remember about working with acetate is to plan the layout of the card so that you are still able to sign the inside of the card.

Valentine's Day is just a few days away so there is still time to make your 'all heart' card.  Link that card to the RI blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an amazing prize - an unmounted sheet of RI images.  Go here to see the complete rules.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!

Repeat Impressions - DCC Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

This weeks DCC Challenge on the Repeat Impressions blog was selected by Cheri.  She has chosen an awesome challenge - Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty.  If you've ever seen the RI catalog, you know Wendy has lots of cat (and dog) images to choose from.  To say she's a cat lover is an understatement so this challenge is absolutely perfect.

For my card I used RI image 7122-G Yikes Cat - this is actually from the funny bones series.  The paw print is RI image 2608-C Cat Paw.   Ooooooh, and one more RI image - the dotted border image is 1514-J Billboard Image.

This is a challenge so you can play along.  Bring out those kitty images.  I'd love to see what you create.  Link your card to the RI Blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for an unmounted sheet of images of your choice.  Go here to see the complete list of rules.

Repeat Impressions DCC - Sweet Treats

For this weeks Repeat Impressions DCC, we have a fun new challenge - Sweet Treats.  This DCC was chosen by Melissa Cash and her sweet treat is adorable - a must see.

For my sweet treat, I used a couple of Repeat Impressions sentiments from the 'Pairings' Series.   The first is 9310-E Yummy and the 2nd is 9313-D Sweet.  These are the perfect sentiments for these cute little Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Sleeves.  They are a fun little treat favor that could be used for any occasion but the bright red colors makes these perfect for Valentine's Day.

The rest of the RI Rock Stars have some amazing sweet treat projects.  Be sure to go here to see what they've created for you.

Now that we have inspired you, be sure to create your own sweet treat.  Whether it is some kind of treat favor and a card featuring your favorite snack, you can link it here on the RI blog (The House That Stamps Built) and you will be entered in a random drawing for a wonderful prize - the unmounted sheet of stamps of your choice.

I hope you get a chance to play along.

Happy New Year!! and a DCC Challenge

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I hope this finds you, happy, healthy and safe.  I always worry about everyone making it home safe from their New Year's gatherings. It was a pretty reserved new years eve for us - dinner and a few drinks and home by 7:30.  Sleeping by 10:00.   I know quite a few people who didn't have the best 2013 so lets hope 2014 brings better things for them.  Our son just graduated from college a few weeks ago, so there are definitely a lot of new beginnings and fresh starts coming his way.  We are looking forward to see where he goes from here.   I know he has huge opportunities ahead of him - praying for a blessed and safe journey along the way for him.

And then there is a DCC challenge at Repeat Impressions.   Geri selected this weeks challenge and it is perfect - New Year - use something new to you.  We probably all have some new craft toy - whether it was a Christmas gift, something we purchased with a gift card, or something we purchased because we "needed" it, we all have some new toy that just needs to be tried.

My new toy is a Tim Holtz die my husband gave me for Christmas.  This is the Alterations On The Edge die called Distressed Doily.  This image is also a new one for me - it is Repeat Impressions image - 1601-K Bear Hug.  What a sweet image.  I love this very simple look I have been seeing so much of.  Just a plain white card with a sweet colored image and that little bit of patterned paper for an accent.  This die was perfect for that look.  It gives this card the homey, cozy look I was going for.  I added just a slight touch of patterned paper and some bling (also new).

So admit it!! You have some new toys too, don't you?  Bring them out.  Create your own card.  Link it here on the Repeat Impressions blog and you will be entered into a random drawing for a unmounted sheet of stamps of your choice.  You can see the complete rules here.

I hope you get a chance to play along.
Stay warm
